P–V continuation
Kind
pv-curve
Interpretation
Configure the admitted native continuation direction, monitored buses, step controls and stopping bounds after checking a converged baseline. Inspect load/generator participation and which controls remain fixed or can reach limits. The stress parameter is dimensionless; voltage is pu and the underlying P/Q is MW/MVAr. Read retained continuation samples and the actual stop reason together: a numerical/parameter bound is not necessarily a physical voltage-collapse point. Preserve branch/outage scope and unsupported controls explicitly. Do not extend a curve beyond recorded points or infer dynamic/transient stability from a static P–V trace. A changed control policy or path needs a new case and new evidence; no sampled receipt inherits engineering approval.
Run
Discover settings with study definitions. Select an exact network snapshot and case version; inspect readiness. Submit once using study_submit or the case submission tool, monitor study_status, then inspect study_results. Keep input/configuration/solver identities, warnings and failure states.
Compare and accept
Use equivalent settings/units and exact receipts. Unsupported or incompatible inputs remain explicit. Numerical qualification and human acceptance are separate. See Studies.
