Update and rollback

1. Export or back up local work according to the desktop evidence controls.
2. Verify the current public manifest, installer checksum, publisher, and timestamp.
3. Install the update, launch from the Start Menu, reopen the local workspace, and run deterministic validation.
4. If validation, launch, or activation fails, uninstall the candidate and install only the prior signed rollback artifact named by the current manifest.
5. Reopen the workspace and verify its evidence hashes before resuming work.

A rollback changes software, not engineering history. Never replace or rewrite a canonical study merely to make an older version accept it.
