Projects, equipment and data
Open, save and verify
Open .veragrid through File/Open; check circuit identity, inventory and warnings. Use Save As to an explicit destination for a new copy. Reopen it to check native IDs, active topology, diagrams and scenarios. A successful save alone is not round-trip proof. Retain originals when evaluating formats.
Properties and units
Select the equipment table and exact native device. Equipment properties gives source-declared definitions and units. Load/generator P is MW, Q is MVAr, voltage setpoints pu, bus nominal voltage kV and continuous branch rating MVA. Check the admitted native mapping before interpreting R/X and B/G. An absent value is not zero; inactive is not deleted. Do not infer units or repair imported values silently.
Diagrams, scenarios and profiles
Diagrams project native identities. Moving a symbol is not a connectivity change: check terminals and state in tables. Saved scenarios, time profiles and named study cases are distinct. Confirm active scenario, time selection and case before a run. Related scalar/profile conflicts both require review.
Exchange and handover
RAW33 exchange is bounded, not qualification of every upstream format. Discover admitted settings, run readiness, submit exchange and inspect outputs/warnings. Handover needs source/destination-bound human consent; import never activates content or transfers approvals automatically. On parse/save failure preserve the original and editor; use Recovery, not an uncertain overwrite.
